Wow - we thought this day would never come, but with a blink of an eye our Jordan is already in Kindergarten. She has been so excited all summer to ride the school bus and play on the big playground. Jordan has Mrs. Hayes this year and it turns out she has 7 friends in her class from either our neighborhood or her old preschool so she was pretty excited to know some kids. We got to go to an open house and see her classroom and meet her teacher. She loved it so much…we were one of the first ones there and were the last ones to leave. We couldn't get her out of the classroom. Peyton loved it so much she wants to go to kindergarten now too. The whole time Jordan was exploring the classroom and reading books, Peyton was playing with the babies in the pretend kitchen.
Jordan had a big first day. She rode the bus all by herself and even bought her lunch. We were a little nervous for her but she was so excited it was hard not to be excited for her. The bus came down the street and she marched on it like she had done it 100 times. We have some intel in the school (friends Moms) who peeked in on her throughout the day and filled us in on how she was doing. She absolutely loved it and came home talking a mile a minute about how she had to go hunting for Spot the dog and the dog had hid in every classroom and they finally found the dog in the office. How they got to have 3 recesses. How they talked about the rules and there is even a school 'doctor office.' It was all pretty cute. Seemed like the first day went pretty well minus the bus ride home which was 40 minutes late. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what this year has in store for her.
Peyton was equally excited for Jordan. She is such a good sister always sharing in Jordan's excitement.
Couldn't resist the 3 girls picture. Lucy was up and ready to watch Jordan catch the bus!
We were all very excited for Jordan (and maybe just a little teary eyed from Mommy and Daddy)
Bus 60! Walking on the bus like she knows exactly what to do.
After calling her name numerous times, I finally got her to turn around and give me a quick wave.
Bus 39 - a little hot from the 40 minute ride, but otherwise very happy!

Jordan at her open house. She found the book nook and stayed there reading just like this for 20 minutes. She is going to love that corner of the room.
Outside room #8 - Mrs. Hayes classroom

Jordan and Mrs. Hayes (yes - she is curtsying). She was so confident and walked right up to her and said "My name is Jordan" and then gave a curtsy. So funny

We found Caitlin in the music room and they put on a little show for us.

Jordan writing her name (and the number 8 for room 8 and a 5 for her age)
Jordan and Maya reading in the reading nook. They are pretty excited to be in the same class together.
