| Peyton LOVED Maggie so much! She called her name every time she saw her during the day. Pretty cute. |

| We love you Maggie! |
Today is a sad day for the Finck Family as we had to say goodbye to our dog Maggie. She has been in my life for 12 years and in Jason's for 7. He is especially grateful for Maggie as she is the reason he started dating me in the first place (I am even more grateful to Maggie for that). She started off with me in college and then graduated to our first "real" house in Oakley before watching me get married and have 2 beautiful girls (who adore her). Through all of this, Maggie eventually grew to pick Jason as her new favorite companion and they became best buddies.
We will obviously miss Maggie because she was a wonderful, loving, loyal dog, but we also put together some of our favorite reasons we loved her so much.
Top 5 Reasons We Loved Maggie
5. She was an instant way to make friends at the park or even just in our yard. Her amazing ability to run down a frisbee and even a huge garbage can lid made every passerby stop and say hi.
4. She had a stomach of steel that will continue to make history for decades to come. Thanks to her ability to open up the fridge by herself, she ate a pound of beef, a stick of butter and a pound cake - all in one sitting. She ate our sample wedding cake before Jason even got a bite. She even ate a whole box of Oreos and Jason's entire fly tying kit. She was also the permanent vacuum around our dinner table and high chair - chomping up every crumb the kids dropped. We will definitely miss her at every meal for this reason.
3. She was the best lake dog one could have. Whether it was up a Long Lake or down at Lake Norris, she loved swimming and boating and just hanging with the family on the lake. She wasn't the best fisherman though as she would watch for fish on the dock for hours and jump in after them scaring them away. She was also quick to stand next to the girls if they ever had a fishing rod as they caught fish that could fit in her mouth and they liked to put the fish in a bucket to watch it. Maggie soon learned that a fish in a little bucket was the easiest kind to catch.
2. Maggie was the best running partner I have had. In her day, she could run for miles and miles. She provided me with constant companionship on my runs and even motivation to run a little farther. Even in her old age when she could barely make it down the street she still got excited (with a cute little prance) when I put on my running shoes.
1. The best part of Maggie was that she was always a loyal loving dog and a protector to us all. She started out protecting me in college and then in my first house. Anyone who came to the door always got her sniff of approval or a good growl. She knew I was pregnant with Jordan before we even knew it and then took it upon herself to protect every member of our family.
