Happy 7 Year Anniversary to Us!

We were lucky enough to get 5 whole days, kid free, in Maine for an early anniversary present. It was so fun and relaxing. We missed the kids, but it was nice to get some full nights sleep and have some nice meals without being interrupted. We spend most of our time in the little town of Camden and enjoyed its quaint shops and restaurants as well as some site seeing on our bikes. We also made it to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbour which was beautiful. Here are some pictures of our trip - they aren't as cute without the kids in them, but still some good scenery to look at.
We took lots of "selfless" since we were biking and hiking a lot by ourselves. This was on a bike ride in Camden.

The boats in Camden are so pretty. It was fun to eat and enjoy the views.
Sandy Beach in Acadia National Park.

We did a little hike up to the top of Sandy Beach  - you can start to see the fall colors popping through although they have a lot of Evergreen Trees so it wasn't quite as colorful as we thought it would be.

Some friends recommended hiking to the top of this mountain on a trail called the Beehive. It didn't look too bad from Sandy Beach so we decided to give it a shot - we were definitely wrong.

Just a few little rocks at the start of the Beehive Trail.  This isn't so bad - so we kept going.

These smiles are at the start of the trail. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Climbing up ladders on the side of the cliffs never even crossed our minds at this point - but then we went a little further and found ourselves doing exactly that.

We finally made it to the top. Granted I was literally on my hands and knees for part of it and totally scared out of my mind but it was worth it. The view was stunning and we had a nice accomplishment of surviving it.

We felt like we conquered the world - don't slip off the cliff!

Thunderhole

Famous Jordan Pond. It was just beautiful. Apparently only Brook Trout live in Jordan Pond which we found very appropriate. Jordan can't believe there is a whole pond named after her :)

We had to get a picture for Jordan of the sign with her name on it.

We biked a very strenuous 10.5 mile ride on the carriage trails in Acadia. They were straight up and down, but that left for some beautiful views. This is Eagle Lake - it was gorgeous.
A little tired from all of the hiking and biking, but we were rewarded with yet another delicious Lobster for dinner!

On top of Cadillac Mountain. You can see all of the little islands off of Maine. I had no idea Maine had so many islands off its coast. It made for some beautiful pictures.

We hiked up to the top of Mt. Battie in Camden. You can see the little town of Camden below in the left.
