I am a little behind in posting this, but 2 weeks ago Peyton had a very bizarre and freak accident in our pantry of all places. We were both in the pantry getting a snack and Peyton reached up to get something off the shelf and in doing so pulled a jar of salsa off the shelf. The jar bottom shattered and a piece of glass hit Peyton in the back of the leg. She was screaming and there was salsa everywhere (which is red) so it was hard to figure out where she was actually hurt. Jordan helped me get a bunch of towels and we were able to clean Peyton up and find the cut. It was a cut about 3/4 inch long on the back of her ankle. Jason and I took her to go get stitches since it did look kind of deep. 2 hospitals, a x-ray, ultra sound and MRI later, we found out that Peyton had completely severed her achilles tendon. We are still in shock that this even happened let alone that a jar of salsa could do so much damage. Peyton had surgery to repair her achilles tendon last Monday and so we are finally on the road to recovery. She specifically asked for a purple cast and then added in pink at the last minute so Children's Hospital was wonderful to accomodate her "pink and purple" cast. It goes all the way up to her underwear line with her knee bent and toe pointed. It looks uncomfortable to us but she is her usual happy self in the cast. She can't walk in it but quickly learned how to crawl again and gets around better than you would think. She has this huge (non-waterproof) very hot cast on for a month and then will get a shorter cast that they are hoping will be a walking cast and will be waterproof (if her incision is healed) for another 3 weeks. We can't wait until this is all over so she can run and play and enjoy the summer.

| Peyton in her temporary cast before surgery. She figured out this little lady bug was a pretty good way to get around the house since she couldn't walk. |

| Peyton right after her surgery. She started out pretty sleepy but woke up quickly for some snacks. Isn't her cast beautiful? |
