Lucy Ann Finck Is Here!

Lucy Ann Finck

February 20, 2014 at 8:24am
5 lbs. 9 oz., 19.5 in.

Mommy went into labor on Wednesday evening, February 19th, but wasn't sure it was the real thing until about 3:00am. She was worried about having another round of false labor so waited a while to wake Daddy up. She was finally sure this was real labor at 5:00am and woke Daddy up. They watched Jimmy Fallon's first Late Night show that they taped from earlier that week trying to take Mommy's mind off of the contractions. It was only fitting because when Mommy had the false labor, they watched Jay Leno's last show. At 6:00 they called the doctor and Bebop and PopPop to get ready to go to the hospital and arrived at the hospital at 7:00am. Of course, this is right during shift change so the line to get into the parking lot was so long. Mommy was quickly losing patience waiting to get to the valet to park. Mommy was 6cm when we got to the hospital and very quickly went to 10cm before Lucy was born 1 hour and 20 minutes later. The first people to get to meet Lucy were Peyton and I. Mommy and Daddy called us on FaceTime and we got to see her and even guess her name. Peyton and I knew right away it must be Lucy (or "UUcy" as Peyton says) because that is what we had been voting on for the past week. Lucy is named after Daddy's maternal grandma (Lucille but they called her Lucy) and Ann is after Mommy's paternal grandma and also Aunt B's (her middle name). So little Lucy got a very special name for our family.

After Peyton and I hung up the phone, I immediately told Bebop that, "we have a new member to the royal family!" Peyton and I are just so excited to have a third princess in the house. We went to school and told all of our friends that Mommy had her baby and that we get to go see her after school. We brought Lucy presents and birthday cookies and even sang Happy Birthday to her when we got there. It was quite the party.  Here are some pictures from Lucy's birthday.

Lucy right after she was born.

Lucy's official weight. (the big black thing on her ankle is her security monitor)
Getting her official length taken. 19.5 inches. She shrank down to 18 inches at her 4 day check up. I guess that means she had quite the cone head at birth.

One proud (and tired) Momma.

And a very proud Daddy too.

Graduating from Labor and Delivery to our Recovery room. Lucy's first "ride."

Two very proud sisters. They were so excited to meet their little sister. We both were wearing shirts that said "Big Sis." I have been a big sis for a while, but now I am the biggest sis and Peyton got promoted from Lil Sis to Big Sis. We are both very proud of our new titles.

A little excited and a little confused that Lucy just came out of Mommy's tummy. Peyton especially couldn't believe that there wasn't still a baby in Mommy's tummy.

Peyton dancing in her Big Sis shirt.
Bebop and all of the girls!

Peyton loved Lucy right away and wanted to hold and kiss her. She has been talking about "her baby in Mommy's tummy" for months and was so excited to meet "her" baby.

Lucy had lots of visitors her first day. Bebop and PopPop with their 6th grandchild.

Aunt KK snuggling Lucy.

Jordan has been the best biggest sister. She is very protective of Lucy and wants to hold her a lot. When Lucy cries Jordan tells her, "Shhhhh, its ok, your big sister Jordan has you."

Memaw and Bix with their 5th grand daughter.

Nothing like Skyline lunch in the hospital. Mommy found cheese in her bed for 2 days after this meal…but it was delicious!

Some very proud and happy sisters! Mommy just LOVES this picture!

Kisses for Lucy

Immediately after meeting Lucy, Jordan sat down and drew a picture of our new family. Daddy is on the left followed by Jordan, Peyton, Mommy and Lucy is in the stroller on the right.

Lucy gets to go home!
Hope you enjoyed all of the pictures of our newest member to the royal family. Mommy is going crazy with the camera so I am sure you will see a lot more pictures in the coming weeks.

Love,
Jordan
